My family has farmed in  Johnston County, North Carolina since the 1700s. Most farmers have large, close families that gather frequently, cook huge meals and “set around the table” after dinner swapping stories.

These gatherings mostly take place on Sundays and are an all day affair.

These are stories that came from  those Sundays.

Well, mostly.

As my Aunt Ann with no “e” always said, “I’ve never let facts get in the way of a good story.”
